About Us
The Story of Nature Spirits
Nature Spirits was born from a simple yet powerful belief — that creativity, community, and healing can transform lives. Founded in Diani, Kenya, our journey began with a small group of passionate artists, cultural practitioners, and changemakers who wanted to use the power of art, performance, and wellness to bring people together.
Over time, we saw the struggles faced by youth and teen mothers in our community — challenges of unemployment, lack of opportunities, and silent battles with confidence and mental health. We realized that Nature Spirits could be more than just an arts collective; it could become a safe space for growth, empowerment, and resilience.
Today, Nature Spirits (C.B.O.) is a community hub where creativity meets empowerment. Through music, dance, visual arts, yoga, and cultural exchange, we provide young people and teen mothers with tools to unlock their potential, build sustainable livelihoods, and reconnect with their inner strength.
Our Projects

TEEN MOTHERS
Our mission is to empower teen mothers through creativity, economic opportunities, and holistic wellbeing. We provide a safe space where they can build confidence, nurture their talents, and access skills that lead to financial independence and mental health support. By fostering community, resilience, and self-expression, we aim to uplift teen mothers to create brighter futures for themselves and their families.
“Empowering teen mothers with confidence, skills, and opportunities for a brighter future.”

YOUTH
At Nature Spirits, we believe in the strength and creativity of young people. Our mission is to nurture their talents, build their confidence, and guide them toward meaningful opportunities that support both personal and economic growth. Through arts and culture, we inspire the youth to embrace resilience, develop leadership, and shape a sustainable future for themselves and their communities.
“Empowering youth with creativity, confidence, and opportunities for growth.”
Nature Spirits is a registered Community Based Organization (C.B.O) working in partnership with local communities and the Kenyan government to address social and environmental challenges while empowering the next generation. Our mission is to nurture resilience, creativity, and sustainable livelihoods among youth and teen mothers through community-driven initiatives.
Our Core Projects Include
Teen Mother Empowerment
We provide psychosocial support, mentorship, and skills training for teen mothers, helping them rebuild confidence, access opportunities, and generate income through arts, crafts, and community enterprises.

We advocate for clean energy solutions and empower communities to adopt renewable energy and climate-smart practices that reduce environmental degradation.
Capacity Building
We train and support community members, especially women and youth, with knowledge and practical skills to create sustainable livelihoods and solutions to local challenges.
Blue Economy
We champion sustainable use of marine and coastal resources, supporting communities to embrace eco-friendly livelihoods within the blue economy.
Waste Management
We promote responsible waste disposal, recycling, and upcycling programs that reduce pollution and transform waste into useful resources.
Food Security
We encourage climate-smart agriculture and nutrition awareness, ensuring households are more resilient to climate change and food shortages.
” Nature spirits are considered the divine entities that inhabit various elements of the natural world. These spirits may reside in trees, rivers, mountains, or animals and are often viewed as guardians, protectors, or representations of the life force of nature. “
Our story continues to grow with every voice we uplift, every talent we nurture, and every life we touch. We are more than a community group — we are a movement of healing, expression, and transformation.
